Weaving - I never thought it would be easy, but I never thought it could go this badly either.

I keep separating with a needle, it's killing me.

Oh, and all that separating is causing the strands to go wonky, so now when I beat down, it isn't straight:

 

And did I mention that one of my warp strings broke and I don't know how to fix it despite reading 3 different sets of instructions multiple times?
